Storage chairs - types, how do they work and why should you choose them?
Do you manage a warehouse, where you are responsible for receiving goods, unloading and storing them? Or perhaps you are responsible for supervising the picking, packing and forwarding of goods for dispatch? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you want the work of your subordinates to run smoothly and without errors, as well as to be safe and comfortable for your employees. You therefore need to know that well-fitted warehouse furniture and accessories – including, above all, professional chairs and stools – can help you maintain these factors.
Find out what they are and what they are used for. Next learn about the types and find out whether specialist warehouse chairs and stools will also work for your business.
What are storage chairs and what are they used for?

Storage chairs, as the name suggests, are specialised furniture that should be one of the basic elements of any efficient and safe warehouse. Their construction is based on two raw materials, metal and plastic, which combine to make them durable and functional for a long time.
The overriding aspect worth mentioning is, of course, the correct design – offering a comfortable seat, back support (not in every version), leg room, castors – allowing the chair to be moved efficiently, as well as a handy height control mechanism.
All of this means that properly selected chairs contribute to improving the comfort of warehouse workers. They reduce the feeling of fatigue and the occurrence of possible ailments (including leg or back pain), which in turn also contributes to a significant improvement in efficiency.
Types of chairs used in warehouses. What distinguishes them?
In this matter, we can essentially speak of two main types of furniture. A distinction is made between specialised storage chairs with backrests and those without backrests (also known as storage stools).
As you can easily guess – the first variant offers support for the back as well, making its use justifiable especially in situations where sedentary work forms a significant part of all warehouse duties.
The second option has a smaller support surface, but is much more mobile. This makes it much more suitable – if, for example, the nature of the work does not require staying in one position for many hours.
Will the right chairs work well in your warehouse?

Here are four main signs that this type of furniture is an excellent choice for your business too.
- Firstly: your employees spend many hours in the same position – picking orders or packing parcels.
- Second: Your employees regularly move around the workplace, but from time to time there is a need to perform repetitive tasks – including sitting.
- Thirdly: the activities in your warehouse are not completely organised, but you are planning to change this. Then the introduction of chairs can be a great boost to the quality and ergonomics of your work.
- Fourthly: you are constantly analysing and optimising the performance of your warehouse and you want to achieve better results year on year. An investment in specialised chairs and stools can improve your results by several, a dozen or even several dozen percent!
How do you choose chairs or stools that will improve the functioning of your warehouse?

If you are keen to get better results – just follow these three simple steps:
- Step 1: carefully analyse your work areas and consider which ones can be done ‘sitting down’. If your employees have so far been using traditional chairs – consider whether their work will be improved if you decide to implement fully height-adjustable swivel furniture.
- Step 2: specify the type (with or without backrest) and number of chairs you need. Then go to our shop and place your order in a few simple steps.
- Step 3: introduce chairs and stools into your warehouse and then observe how their use has improved work. Aspects you can measure include, for example: the speed at which packages are packed, the number of breaks during the working day or sick leave due to ill health, damage to goods and much, much more.
